Chicago, IL, United States (AHN) - Chocolate fans who maintain that if you find chocolate on your hands you are not eating it fast enough will find a challenge when confronted with the world's largest chocolate bar.
Created by World's Finest Chocolate, the 3-foot-high, 21-foot-long chocolate bar weighed in at 12,290 pounds Tuesday, setting a Guinness World Record. It beat the previous record chocolate bar by more than a ton.
World's Finest Chocolate, based in Chicago, is well known for selling chocolate fund raising products. It will feature the giant chocolate bar on a tour of schools called "Think Big. Eat Smart." CEO Eddie Opler said it was all part of teaching kids about "portion distortion."
The bar, made with 1,200 pounds of almonds, 5,500 pounds of sugar, 2,000 pounds of milk powder, 1,700 pounds of cocoa butter, and 1,400 pounds of chocolate liquor, will provide 209,000 1-ounce servings.
